I have been professionally drumming as a recording/educator/performer for more than 30yrs
My musical journey began at 5yrs old! Initially, I was taught by my Dad (also Tony) who was a fantastic Bebop and Latin jazz drummer. So, I began with the music of Art Blakey, Elvin Jones, Chico Hamilton Max Roach and Kenny Clark. Later, in Jr High
I have been professionally drumming as a recording/educator/performer for more than 30yrs
My musical journey began at 5yrs old! Initially, I was taught by my Dad (also Tony) who was a fantastic Bebop and Latin jazz drummer. So, I began with the music of Art Blakey, Elvin Jones, Chico Hamilton Max Roach and Kenny Clark. Later, in Jr High and High School I learned to read charts and performed with school bands. During this time I discovered Rock music like The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Jefferson Airplane, Them and on & on…This shaped my style as a drummer to this day! Over many years of drumming, I have continued to add to my playing everything from Punk to Prog. I’m truly grateful for the path I’ve followed and look forward to sharing all of it with my students!
